- Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
- He/she should have a minimum speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand both in English and Odia along with adequate knowledge in Computer application.
Junior Stenographer (Directorate of
Treasuries and Inspection):
- Candidates must have passed +2 Arts/Science/Commerce examination conducted by CHSE, Odisha or equivalent examination.
- He/she should have a minimum speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand both in English and Odia along with adequate knowledge in Computer application.
Junior Grade Typist (Directorate of Prisons and Correctional Services):
- Must have passed HSC Examination or equivalent with Basic Computer Skill Certification.
Typist-cum-Scribe Assistant (Law Department, Odisha):
- Candidates must have passed +2 examination in any discipline or equivalent examination.

- The OSSC CRE 2025 Preliminary Examination is a screening test consisting of one paper worth 150 marks. Based on the marks obtained, approximately 25 times the number of vacancies (category-wise and post-wise) will be shortlisted for the Main Written Examination for Junior Stenographer and Junior Grade Typist positions.

- The Main Written Examination includes a language paper worth 100 marks. Based on performance in the Main Written Examination, approximately 15 times the number of vacancies (category-wise and post-wise) for Junior Stenographer and Junior Grade Typist will be called for the Computer Skill Test (Stage-III).
